Currently, each SMS (inbound and outbound) is logged as a separate Task in Salesforce. For customers with high message volumes, this creates a cluttered activity history, making it difficult to review previous interactions efficiently.
A setting to group all messages exchanged in a day under the same Salesforce record (e.g., one Task or Note per day) would:
Simplify the timeline view in Salesforce.
Improve usability for sales and support teams managing multiple conversations daily.
Reduce the number of Salesforce records created, improving performance and manageability.
This enhancement would greatly benefit teams that rely heavily on SMS for daily customer communication.
Idea:
Provide flexibility to define how SMS-related Tasks are marked in Salesforce (e.g., both inbound and outbound messages marked as “Completed”).
Elaborate the Idea:
At present, inbound SMS are logged as “Open” Tasks while outbound SMS are marked as “Completed.” There’s no configuration to modify this behavior. Many customers prefer consistent task statuses to avoid confusion and unnecessary open-task notifications.
Adding a simple setting under the Salesforce integration (e.g., “Set default Task status for SMS logs”) would:
Ensure uniform reporting and workflow consistency.
Prevent clutter from “Open” Tasks that don’t require follow-up.
Allow teams to align JustCall logging behavior with their internal Salesforce processes.
This improvement would give users better control over how communication data appears in Salesforce and streamline daily task management.
