Importing contacts from Copper to Salesdialer from leads module

Currently, we can import contacts to SD based on the contact type from Copper. However, the contact type is present only on the people sections and not on the leads. The customer needs to import the contact from the leads section. Hence, can we instead pull contacts from 'tags', as that is present on the leads module?
